Czech cities Trutnov and Brno press ahead with road and tram works, extending traffic limits

In Trutnov's Kryblíce district, three construction projects—street reconstruction, fiber‑optic cable laying and sewer repair—are proceeding on schedule through the summer. Road closures are expected to remain in place until late August, with Mayor Michal Rosa noting the timing was chosen to coincide with lower traffic volumes.

In Brno's Kamechy district, a new 1.4‑km tram line is under construction, featuring a tunnel and a bridge closure between Vejrostova and Kuršova streets from July 30. Drivers are urged to use an alternate bridge, and the project, partly funded by EU subsidies, aims for completion by December of next year.

"Uvědomujeme si náročnost situace, která ztěžuje pohyb obyvatel Kryblice," said Mayor Rosa, while spokesperson Hana Tomaštíková announced, "Od čtvrtka 30. července dochází k úplnému uzavření mostu mezi Vejrostovou a Kuršovou ulicí."
