Czech Community Events: Pardubice Nature Walk and Prague Theatre Festival

A guided walk to the restored wetland near Hrobice in the Pardubice region is scheduled for Saturday, 15 August 2026. Organized by the Koalice nevládek Pardubicka (KONEP) together with the local action group of the Kunětické hory region, the two‑ to three‑hour hike will showcase how river‑landscape restoration supports biodiversity. Guides Martin Trávníček of the Pestré Polabí association and ecologist Michal Vávra of the Labe River Basin will explain the ecological importance of the site and its flora and fauna.

In Prague, the annual open‑air festival continues in the artificial cave (grotta) of Havlíčkovy sady, running until 28 August. The event is organized by Divadlo MA, founded by actress‑director Marianna Arzumanová under the patronage of pianist Jevgenij Kissin. This year’s program features a new staging of Oscar Wilde’s comedy, performed mainly by DAMU students, alongside productions such as “Být Marlene Dietrich,” non‑verbal projects, and a conversational comedy about mid‑life crises. The festival aims to create a dialogue between past and present on themes of love, identity and societal expectations.
