Czech cultural events summer 2026

In late July, the Czech Republic hosted two medieval festivals. At Plumlov Castle, a weekend of knightly tournaments, historical dances, falconry and a puppet theatre celebrated the site’s heritage. In the nearby town of Přerov, the "Ve jménu krále" festival marked the 770th anniversary of its royal status with markets, jousting, sword‑play and an evening fire‑show.

A week later, community programming shifted toward nature and the performing arts. A guided walk in the restored wetlands near Hrobice highlighted river‑landscape restoration and biodiversity in the Pardubice region. Meanwhile, Prague’s open‑air festival continued in the artificial cave of Havlíčkovy sady, presenting a new staging of Oscar Wilde’s comedy alongside productions about Marlene Dietrich, non‑verbal works and contemporary comedy.
