Czech companies report highest business optimism in Europe
Czech companies are demonstrating the highest level of optimism in Europe, according to the Moore Thrive Index. With a score of 32.6 points, Czech businesses have surpassed major economies including the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Germany. This positive sentiment is attributed to recovering supply chains and improved operational efficiency.
While European business sentiment is generally the lowest among monitored global regions due to cost pressures and weak growth, the Czech Republic shows significant improvement compared to 2024. However, more than half of surveyed companies identify a tight labor market as a primary risk.
Regarding employment, 37% of Czech employers plan to increase their staff, while 13% expect a decrease and 50% anticipate no change. The net labor market index has risen to 24 percentage points, reflecting a growing trend of confidence despite slow economic growth. Industry sectors such as manufacturing and automotive remain optimistic, though a mismatch persists between job seekers and the specific skills required by employers.
