Czech drivers show growing interest in electric vehicles
A survey conducted by E.ON and Volkswagen, using data from Ipsos, reveals shifting attitudes toward electric vehicles (EVs) in the Czech Republic. While only 14% of Czech drivers have personally operated an EV, 73% expressed interest in trying one, and only 6% are strictly opposed to the technology.
The research indicates that approximately 40.9% of drivers—primarily regional commuters and urban drivers—could transition to electric mobility with minimal changes to their daily routines. Another 45.2% of respondents would consider EVs if they had access to regular charging at home or work.
Key barriers for those without experience include concerns over purchase costs (74%), driving range (52%), and charging availability (41%). Conversely, those who have driven EVs cited quiet operation (68%) and smooth driving (60%) as primary benefits.
