Czech E.ON Energy Globe competition selects five sustainability finalists

The 18th edition of the E.ON Energy Globe competition in the Czech Republic received 289 project submissions. A jury from the Academy of Sciences chose five finalists, each competing for the public vote and a top prize of 500,000 CZK. The shortlisted projects showcase diverse approaches to environmental protection: ENRESS converts hard‑to‑recycle plastics and tires into raw materials and energy; a school climate garden programme in Brno engages students in water retention, soil improvement and biodiversity; the village of Ratiboř demonstrates integrated sustainable energy, water management and community waste sorting; a new farmer school provides specialised vocational training for ecological agriculture; and UpGreen uses satellite data to monitor tree health. Claudia Viohl, CEO of E.ON Czech Republic, said the awards “prove that sustainability in the Czech Republic is not just a passing trend but a living field driven by a growing community of people who truly care about the future.”
