Czech government approves Prague high-speed rail development plan

The Czech government has approved the Partial Territorial Development Plan (DÚRP) for the Prague high-speed rail (VRT) project. This plan defines the corridors for high-speed tracks within the capital, specifically covering the section between Praha-Vršovice and Praha-Běchovice. The development includes a new connecting track between Praha-Libeň, Praha-Malešice, and Praha-Běchovice, known as the Jahodnická connection, to facilitate freight train transit through the Prague node.

In a related infrastructure development, the Prague 15 district has moved into the next stage of project preparation for a Park and Ride (P+R) facility near the Horní Měcholupy train stop. Supported by the City of Prague, the project aims to stabilize the location, define parking capacity, and integrate technical infrastructure such as pedestrian walkways, cycle paths, and renewable energy sources. The goal is to ensure all technical and regulatory requirements are met by next spring to allow for rapid implementation.
