Czech business mission to India signs major industrial and defence deals

Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček is leading a major business mission to India to strengthen bilateral trade, which currently stands at USD 4 billion. During the visit, which includes stops in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed across the transport, energy, and industrial sectors.

Key agreements include a partnership between the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic and the Confederation of Indian Industry. Specific corporate deals were reached in nuclear energy between WITKOWITZ ATOMICA and TKIL Industries, and in transportation technology between AMIT Transportation and Inrail Transportation. Additionally, E-INVEST and CRG Industries agreed to form a joint venture for railway infrastructure products.

On the diplomatic and security front, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met with Havlíček to review defence industrial cooperation. The two leaders agreed to expand collaboration through the India-Czech Joint Defence Committee, supporting India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’ initiatives through potential co-development of military hardware and existing joint ventures.
