Czech-India industrial and defense cooperation

Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček led a business mission to India to strengthen bilateral trade and industrial cooperation. The mission involved meetings in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai to expand partnerships in the transport, energy, and industrial sectors.

During the mission, several Memorandums of Understanding were signed, including a partnership between the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic and the Confederation of Indian Industry. Specific corporate agreements were reached in nuclear energy, transportation technology, and railway infrastructure.

On the security front, Havlíček met with Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to review defense industrial cooperation. The leaders agreed to expand collaboration through the India-Czech Joint Defence Committee, aiming to support India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’ initiatives through the potential co-development of military hardware.

Further discussions with Indian officials, including the Minister of Commerce and Industry and the Minister of Coal and Mines, focused on increasing mutual investments and exploring opportunities in the mining and steel sectors.
