Czech kindergarten in Černošín reopens after major vandalism
A preschool in the village of Černošín in the Tachov district was vandalised in early May. Unknown perpetrators caused extensive damage to furniture, toys, electronics and carpet, broke windows and stole cash, with losses estimated at over 430,000 Czech crowns.
The incident triggered a police investigation for theft and property damage. Cleaning and repairs were carried out by parents, volunteers and professional craftsmen, and the community donated new toys and equipment. The kindergarten was cleared and prepared to welcome children again on Tuesday, 12 May, with all three classes operating without restrictions.
Director Jana Rauscherová thanked those who helped restore the facility, noting that electricians and staff completed the final repairs by Friday. Police continue to search for the suspects.
