Czech municipal budget deficit and ERA profit decline

The city of České Budějovice reported a deficit of 81 million CZK for the first half of the year. Despite this, officials state the city is adhering to its approved budget, with revenues at approximately 53 percent of projections and expenditures at 37 percent. The city has approved capital investments totaling 1.3 billion CZK for the year, having already spent 470 million CZK on projects such as the renovation of Senovážné náměstí.

In Pardubice, the radar manufacturer ERA reported a significant decline in profits. The operating result fell by 43 percent to 1.281 billion CZK, while the financial result dropped from a profit of 164,000 CZK to a loss of 134,000 CZK. Management attributed the decline to the specific structure and configuration of defense sector deliveries. Despite the dip, the company noted global demand for military technology remains high and is preparing to build a new technological center in Pardubice.
