Czech ODS forms joint candidate lists with TOP 09 for municipal elections in Jihlava and Brno

The Civic Democratic Party (ODS) will run joint municipal election lists with TOP 09 in several Czech cities. In Jihlava, the list also includes KDU‑ČSL and is headed by incumbent mayor Petr Ryška (ODS). Ryška highlighted major projects such as the renovation of the town square, a new water supply line from the Švihov reservoir, and the construction of a new phase of the central transport terminal, and expressed a desire to cooperate with any parties that share the program and act civilly.

In Brno, ODS and TOP 09 have approved a common candidate slate led by Zlatušková, who replaces outgoing mayor Markéta Vaňková after Vaňková cited health issues and a wish to give colleagues a chance to serve. The Brno list features a mix of experienced local officials – including mayors of Brno‑Střed, Brno‑Jih, Starý Lískovec and others – and new faces such as municipal district leaders and a former prime‑minister’s son‑in‑law. The parties aim to maintain continuity while introducing younger energy, and they stress support for Ukraine, local culture, and a new multifunctional hall.
