Czech ODS names Michal Müller top candidate for Prague 1 municipal elections
The regional council of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) in Prague approved a new candidate list for the upcoming municipal elections in the city district Prague 1. The list places current health councilor Michal Müller at the top, with deputy mayor Tomáš Heres and other figures such as political scientist Daniel Kunštát, councilor Eva Špačková and Robert Jandera further down.
The change follows the party’s decision to remove former district mayor Jan Dvořák after he failed to explain the origins of a 230 million‑Czech‑koruna inheritance. ODS leadership criticized Dvořák’s lack of transparency, expelled him from the party and urged him to withdraw his candidacy. Despite resistance from the local branch, the party’s executive board confirmed the revised list. Party chairwoman of the Prague branch Alexandra Udženija said, "Praha 1 má novou kandidátku. Kandidátku, za kterou si ODS stojí a která se dívá dopředu, ne dozadu."
