Czech Parents Advised on Kindergarten Transition
Experts advise Czech parents on how to ease their child's move from a children's group to kindergarten. Lenka Králová, a pedagogue leader at Sto skupin, stresses that while children may have adapted to a small group, a kindergarten presents a larger, more structured environment that can be unsettling.
Key recommendations include discussing the change openly and calmly, visiting the new school, using open‑door days, reading books about starting kindergarten, and allowing a short break between the two settings. Parents are encouraged to avoid false promises and to reassure children that initial difficulties are normal but temporary.
