Czech philharmonic orchestras announce auditions and community programs

The Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra in Zlín has announced auditions for new musicians. The orchestra is seeking a cellist for a part-time position and a horn player for a full-time role. Auditions are scheduled for November 18 and November 24, respectively, involving both solo and orchestral repertoire. The horn position is intended for a start in January 2027.

Separately, the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra in Ostrava is launching new community engagement programs. A new workshop series led by Lenka Jaborská is designed for toddlers aged two to three and their parents, focusing on singing, movement, and Orff instruments. Additionally, the ‘Philharmonic Plus’ program offers seniors practical music workshops and discussions led by Martin Ptáček to foster a closer connection to classical music.
