Czech philharmonic orchestra activities

Overview

Czech philharmonic orchestras have announced various upcoming musical programs, recruitment efforts, and community initiatives.

The Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava scheduled two concert programs for mid-October featuring works by Johannes Brahms and Béla Bartók. The October 15 performance includes Bartók’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and Brahms’ Symphony No. 3, conducted by Daniel Raiskin. A second concert on October 16 will focus on Brahms.

In addition to performances, the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra in Zlín is holding auditions for a part-time cellist and a full-time horn player in November. The Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava is also expanding its community outreach through new workshop series for toddlers and the ‘Philharmonic Plus’ program for seniors.
