Czech police crack down on illegal car tuning rally

A large-scale illegal car tuning event, known as ‘Europe illegal season end 2026’, drew hundreds to hundreds of modified vehicles across the Czech Republic, prompting a massive police mobilization.

Following an initial gathering of approximately 1,000 vehicles and 2,500 people in Prague-Čakovice, the event moved to Brno. Due to extensive police presence in Brno, participants reportedly moved toward Olomouc during the night.

South Moravian police reported that the situation remained relatively calm, characterized primarily by loud engine revving, honking, and loud music. However, officers conducted checks on approximately 700 vehicles, identifying over 100 offenses. Fines exceeding 200,000 CZK were issued, primarily for improper technical vehicle conditions and traffic violations.

Notable enforcement actions included the seizure of vehicles from two drivers caught racing in normal traffic, the confiscation of an unregistered drone, and the seizure of registration documents from individuals with unapproved vehicle modifications.
