Czech police issue 237 fines in July traffic safety checks

On July 15, Czech police focused traffic controls on high‑risk locations with stop signs and temporary road closures. Officers recorded eight drivers who failed to stop at a stop sign on road II/114 and five motorists who ignored a temporary entry‑prohibition on road II/118, issuing on‑site fines. A police technician used a drone to document violations.

Earlier, on July 3‑4, broader checks across the country resulted in 237 on‑site fines and 15 additional offences reported to administrative authorities. Speeding was the most common breach, with more than 140 cases, followed by over 40 vehicles in poor technical condition, 34 drivers without a valid toll payment, 15 infractions of driving‑style rules, and seven drivers caught under the influence of alcohol. Police spokespersons highlighted the surge in summer travel and urged motorists to drive safely, stay hydrated and take regular breaks.
