Czech Police prepare for massive illegal tuning car meet

Czech police are preparing for a large-scale illegal tuning car meet, titled ‘Europe illegal season end 2026’, which is expected to draw thousands of participants from across Europe. The event is scheduled to begin in Prague on October 2, followed by activities in Brno the next day.

Authorities learned of the gathering through social media. Police spokesperson Jozef Bocán noted that similar events in other European countries have historically caused significant threats to road safety and public order, including illegal racing, highway blockades, theft of traffic signage, and the use of pyrotechnics.

To mitigate risks, police will deploy a massive response including thermal imaging helicopters, drones, and specialized units from across the country. Security measures will cover border crossings and major access roads, with officers from highway departments and traffic inspectorates on high alert to manage the potential influx of thousands of modified vehicles.
