Czech police report high-speed chases involving drug-impaired drivers

Czech police have reported two separate incidents involving high-speed chases and reckless driving by individuals under the influence of drugs.

In the first incident near Mutěnice and Dubňany, a motorcyclist reached speeds of nearly 200 km/h while attempting to evade a police vehicle. The rider maneuvered through town centers and past railway crossings, posing a significant risk to others. Upon being caught, the individual was found to have a valid driving ban, a positive drug test, and an expired technical inspection on the motorcycle. The vehicle was subsequently seized.

In a second incident in the Česká Lípa region, a driver in a Volkswagen Golf reached speeds of 170 km/h while fleeing police. The driver collided with a Škoda Fabia, forced other vehicles off the road, and narrowly missed a pedestrian at a crosswalk. The driver, who tested positive for drugs and lacked a valid driver's license, surrendered in Max. He has been placed in custody on charges of general endangerment and obstructing official decisions.
