Czech Republic hosts international military exercises and veteran support events
The Czech Republic is hosting significant military-related activities, including the Ample Strike 2026 international exercise and a veteran support sports tournament in Příbram.
Ample Strike 2026 brings together nearly 600 soldiers and 26 Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) teams from 19 countries. The exercise focuses on perfecting direct air support coordination between ground troops and aircraft. Colonel Aleš Cápal, the exercise commander, noted that the training allows allies to practice procedures and tests the host nation's ability to secure multinational exercises.
In Příbram, a sports tournament is being held to support military and police veterans. The event features teams from the Czech Army, the Police of the Czech Republic, and an international contingent from the United States. The American Falcons team, representing the 1st Battalion, 77th Field Artillery Regiment from Grafenwöhr, Germany, is participating with support from the U.S. Embassy in Prague. Proceeds from the tournament will be split between the Military Solidarity Fund and the Police and Firefighters Foundation.
