Czech Republic implements various road closures and traffic measures

Various infrastructure and traffic management measures are being implemented across different regions of the Czech Republic.

In the Ústí nad Labem region, the road II/224 between Kadaň and Podbořany will be completely closed from September 7 to October 18 for road surface remediation near Pětipsy. The project, managed by Eurovia for 8.9 million CZK, involves repairing 665 meters of roadway and renewing the shoulder areas. Additionally, partial closures with traffic lights will occur near the Hradec nad Roklí substation from mid-September to late October.

In South Bohemia, a new 8.5-kilometer bypass for Dasné and Češnovic on the route from České Budějovice to Písek is scheduled to open on October 3. Initially, only half of the road will be operational, allowing one lane of traffic in each direction with a speed limit of 70 km/h. The full bypass is expected to be completed in approximately one year, which is intended to divert up to 20,000 vehicles per day from the local village centers.

In Prague 1, a new school street zone has been established on Klimentská street near the Jiří Gutha-Jarkovský Primary School. On working days, vehicle access to the section between U Nemocenské pojišťovny and Barvířská is restricted from 7:00 to 8:00 AM. This one-year trial aims to increase safety and visibility for children and pedestrians during morning school arrivals.
