Czech Republic infrastructure: New road and utility projects underway

Infrastructure projects are progressing in various regions of the Czech Republic, focusing on transportation safety and utility improvements.

In the Žilina district of Nový Jičín, construction has begun on a new sidewalk and water supply system along road III/4832. The project addresses a decade-long need for pedestrian safety due to heavy traffic and provides a reliable water source for residents who previously relied on wells that were prone to flooding or drying up during droughts.

In South Bohemia, the Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) has opened a new 3.2-kilometer feeder road connecting the D3 motorway to Český Krumlov. The project, costing nearly 400 million CZK, includes parts of road I/39 and the relocation of road II/155. The new route serves as a bypass for Dolní Třebonín and Prostřední Svince, aiming to reduce transit traffic, noise, and emissions in these municipalities while shortening travel times from Prague to the Lipno region.
