Czech Republic reopens key road sections in Havlíčkův Brod and D35
The P.F. Ledvinky street in Havlíčkův Brod has been fully repaired and reopened to traffic after a closure that began in mid‑March. The work, carried out in three phases, restored the road surface, sidewalks and added new public lighting, allowing vehicles to again access the winter sports arena on the Kotel mountain.
A kilometre‑long segment of the D35 motorway near Všestar was opened on 9 June, a day later than planned. The opening was announced on the Dostavba D35 Facebook page with the comment, “Sice s denním zpožděním, ale přeci. Tak tady máte exkluzivní průjezd po nové části úseku D35.” The parallel I/35 road was closed, redirecting drivers onto the newly opened D35 lanes. Completion of the D35 upgrade, which aims to replace the two‑lane I/35 with a four‑lane highway, is scheduled for the end of the year, with traffic expected to increase to more than 15 000 vehicles daily.
