Czech Republic road closures extended through summer

The II/155 highway segment between Holkova and Prostějov in South Bohemia has been fully closed from 15 June until 31 August while a new link to the D3 motorway is built. The detour routes are signed along I/3, I/39 and secondary roads, and the project costs about 323 million CZK.

Separately, the reconstruction of the I/19 road near Pohled on the Havlíčkův Brod‑Žďár nad Sázavou corridor has encountered unanticipated slope instability, pushing the expected reopening from the end of July to the autumn construction season, likely October or November. The work, originally budgeted at just over 46 million CZK, involves extensive earthworks and specialized machinery. The prolonged closure affects local and transit traffic, requiring detours via roads 34, 37 and other secondary routes, and has prompted temporary road‑use changes for public transport and waste‑collection vehicles.
