Otrokovice railway station access closed amid road repairs, other Czech and Slovak traffic works cause disruptions

In Otrokovice, the main railway station’s access will be partially closed from 3 to 13 August while Dr. Edvarda Beneše street is fully blocked and Havlíčkova street is limited to public transport. Buses will terminate in Malenovice and passengers must change to routes 55 and 57. The municipality has set up temporary parking and alternative routes for private cars.

Near Řetechov, the road between Ludkovice and Řetechov is closed until the end of November after a landslide‑prone slope is stabilized with a new reinforced concrete retaining wall. A detour via Pozlovice is in place; the works cost about 6.4 million CZK.

The 7.5‑km section of road I/9 near Trenčín (Chocholná‑Mníchová Lehota) opened on 1 August after a multi‑year reconstruction that added two new bridges, a round‑about, and noise‑reduction walls. The project, overseen by Minister of Transport Jozef Ráž, cost roughly 52 million EUR and is expected to improve safety and traffic flow on a key transit corridor.

In Prague, extensive summer repairs on tram lines and major streets (including the Spálená‑National Avenue corridor) have caused long vehicle queues, increased emissions and delays for commuters.

Hradec Křižovatka “Mileta” reopened on 3 August, removing temporary traffic islands and adding new bus stops serving lines 9, 16, 19, 23, 24, 33 and 52.

Ostrava’s Rudná street (I/11) will be partially closed in two stages from 1 to 20 August, prompting possible congestion.

Near Náchod, a bridge on the bypass will be built while road I/14 is closed for four days to allow construction work.
