Czech Republic infrastructure projects cause widespread transport disruptions

Various infrastructure projects across the Czech Republic are causing significant transportation disruptions. In Prague, tram services between Ohrada and Palmovka will be suspended from August 22 to August 24 due to road bridge repairs near Pod Krejcárkem. Additionally, ongoing roadworks on Plzeňská street and the Hlávkův bridge continue to impact city traffic.

On the rail network, major maintenance is occurring on the corridor between Kolín and Pardubice. Work involving the replacement of tracks, sleepers, and signaling equipment will force trains to operate on a single track through various sections until mid-September. Regional services on the Přelouč – Pardubice route will be replaced by substitute buses between August 20 and September 5.

In Ostrava, while some repairs on Rudná street have concluded, new long-term construction is beginning on the Plzeňská street bridge, which is expected to last until next year, causing narrowed lanes for drivers.
