Czech Republic hit by severe storms and flooding

Severe thunderstorms, supercells, and heavy rainfall have caused widespread disruption across the Czech Republic, leading to hundreds of emergency interventions. Firefighters reported over 700 calls for assistance, primarily involving fallen trees, flooded basements, and clearing mud from roads.

In Central Bohemia, rainfall reached significant levels, with the Nedrahovice-Rudolec station recording 96.7 mm in 24 hours. The Kutná Hora region faced more serious consequences, where authorities had to conduct preventive evacuations of two children's camps due to rising water and mud.

In Prague, the intense weather caused the Botič and Rokytka rivers to reach the first flood activity level. The storms also severely impacted transportation; flooded underpasses in Krč forced bus diversions, and heavy rain and wind caused widespread delays across the Prague Integrated Transport (PID) rail network. In the Brdy region, supercells brought localized hail and intense downpours.
