Czech Road Authority launches CZK 690 million tender for D11 rest stop near Jaroměř

The Directorate of Roads and Motorways (ŘSD) of the Czech Republic has issued a design‑and‑build tender worth 690 million Czech crowns (without VAT) for a new bi‑directional rest area on the D11 highway at kilometre 109 near Jaroměř. The facility will include a fuel station, 75 parking spaces – 30 for trucks, 41 for cars and four for buses – and police control points on both sides. Archaeological rescue work began at the site in April, with construction slated to start later this year and the rest area expected to open in 2028.

The tender is part of a broader programme to complete the D11 corridor. ŘSD is already building a medium‑size rest area at Předměřice (cost 163 million CZK, to be finished this September) and preparing a bid for the Bernartice stop near the Polish border (estimated 381 million CZK, capacity for 64 cars and 57 trucks). A further rest area at Královec is planned at the frontier. The D11, operational since December 2021, currently has 113 of its planned 154 kilometres in service; the final Jaroměř‑Trutnov segment is projected for completion in autumn 2029.
