Czech road repairs begin in Jihlava and on I/19 highway
Road works are set to start across two locations in the Czech Republic. In Jihlava, the municipal road Polenská street will be closed from June 24 to July 3 for resurfacing, with traffic diverted via Havlíčková street. The works, carried out by a construction firm, include milling, asphalt laying and infrastructure adjustments.
On the national I/19 route, repairs on a half‑kilometre stretch near Havlíčkobrod and further sections between Nové Město and Olešná are scheduled to begin in July. The projects, costing tens of millions of crowns, involve bridge reinforcement and lane reconstruction, with heavy‑vehicle detours routed onto first‑class roads. Both initiatives aim to improve road safety and capacity for freight traffic.
