Czech road works near Slovak border cost over 260 million CZK

A new road alignment with eight bridges is being built in Nových Heřminovech to accommodate a dam project, creating a fresh route for local traffic.

The Czech Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) estimates the repair of the I/68 highway between Mosty u Jablunkova and the Slovak border at nearly 260 million CZK (excluding VAT). The 8‑kilometre stretch, split into two sections, is slated for a tender with offers due by 4 August and a maximum construction period of 135 days. The project will maintain the road geometry while improving durability, and the evaluation will weigh price (80 %) and completion time (20 %).
