Czech secondary school admissions in Hradec and Mělník hit full capacity with high exam scores

The Ministry of Education has posted first‑round results for secondary‑school entrance exams in the Hradec Králové region, including admission criteria and historical applicant‑to‑place ratios.

In the nearby Mělník district, all three gymnasia, technical schools and many vocational programmes filled their seats in the first round. Sixty students were admitted with combined Czech‑language and mathematics scores ranging up to 130 % (the last admitted scored 114 % at Gymnázium Jana Palacha, 98 % at Gymnázium Františka Palackého, and 86 % for the economics track). The average score for successful candidates was roughly 152 %. Applications were about five times the number of places, and over 250 spots across more than twenty specialisations remain available for a second‑round admission.

The intense competition highlights the limited capacity of popular secondary programmes in the region.
