Czech spa regions undergo historical building restorations

Efforts to revitalize historical spa regions in the Czech Republic are progressing through significant reconstruction projects. In Kyselka, the association Lázně Kyselka is preparing a comprehensive plan to restore nine historical buildings. The goal is to transform the decaying complex into a modern center focused on health, longevity, and spa services. The project, designed by OV architekti, aims to secure diverse funding through programs like ‘Spravedlivá transformace’ and involves collaboration with the National Heritage Institute and the Institute of Spa and Balneology.

In the Náchod region, the IDA spa building in Velké lázně Běloves has officially reopened to the public following a reconstruction costing over 24 million CZK. The project included the restoration of the mineral water spring and the creation of a new exhibition dedicated to spa history and the Czech-Polish border tradition. This development is part of the ‘Balneum Glacensis’ project, which links Náchod with the spa towns of Kudowa-Zdrój and Polanica-Zdrój.
