Czech supplementary pension savings market overview
Supplementary pension savings remain a key financial tool in the Czech Republic for securing retirement through state contributions, employer contributions, and tax benefits. Current regulations allow for a tax deduction of up to 48,000 CZK from the annual tax base, which can result in tax savings ranging from 7,200 CZK to 11,040 CZK for high-income earners.
State contributions currently stand at 20% of monthly deposits, provided a minimum deposit of 500 CZK is made. A government proposal aims to increase this contribution to 40% for individuals under 30 years of age. Additionally, these savings can facilitate early retirement options where the state covers health insurance.
In the market performance for September 2026, Conseq, NN Penzijní společnost, and Česká spořitelna led the rankings for supplementary pension savings. According to the Association of Pension Companies, the sector saw 2,297,393 participants in the second quarter of 2026, managing assets exceeding 368 billion CZK, with a net increase of 60,701 participants during that period.
