Czech TV rolls out new series 'Jobovka' and airs popular comedy film on Prima

Czech Television is preparing the eight‑part drama series Jobovka, directed by Jan Hřebejk and written by Matěj Dadák. Filming took place in July at the historic Točník Castle, with a cast that includes Jiří Havelka, Antonie Martinec Formanová, Jiří Schmitzer and Petra Hřebíčková. The series follows the Baránek family as they relocate from Prague to a remote village, confronting local traditions, personal ambitions and lingering grudges.

Meanwhile, the comedy film Bezva ženská na krku, originally streamed on Netflix, is being broadcast on Prima at 20:15. The film stars Ondřej Vetchý as a gravedigger and Petra Hřebíčková as a village teacher, and has enjoyed strong viewership since its release a decade ago. Both programmes highlight current Czech productions and feature prominent local talent.
