Czech villages host historic railway ride and local art exhibition

A historic steam‑powered railway line known as the Kolešovka (track 125) in the Central Bohemian region is offering a special ride on 22 August 2026. The event features an exhibition of historic railway vehicles and photographs, with tickets priced at 150 CZK for adults and 100 CZK for children and seniors. The 12‑km single‑track line, opened in 1883, originally hauled hop, beet and coal freight before transitioning to passenger service.

In the nearby village of Králová Lhota, a community‑run exhibition titled “Tvoříme – sbíráme” was held on 18‑19 July in a former pub. Organized by local residents Pavlína Hermanová and Jana Valešová, the show displayed handmade ceramics, embroidery, paintings and, for the first time, historic photographs of the village. About 25 creators participated and attracted more than 60 visitors, exceeding the village’s permanent population.

Both events highlight local cultural heritage and community creativity in the Czech Republic.
