Czechoslovak Group launches $635 million Future Artillery Complex in Iowa

Czech defence conglomerate Czechoslovak Group (CSG), headed by Michal Strnad, has broken ground on a $635 million Future Artillery Complex in Iowa. The facility, built through its subsidiary MSM North America, will operate under a GOCO (government‑owned, contractor‑operated) model and is designed to produce up to 36 000 155 mm artillery shells each month. The plant aims to help the U.S. Army boost its total monthly output of this key munition to 100 000 rounds, supporting both domestic needs and allied forces.

CSG’s expansion in the United States also includes new capacity for serial production of drone propulsion units in Wisconsin and the establishment of additional subsidiaries such as CSG Land Systems North America. The Iowa complex is marketed as the most advanced facility of its kind worldwide, featuring a data‑driven, automated production line that integrates with the U.S. military’s modernization goals.
