Częstochowa religious institutions mark new academic year and seminary centenary

The Higher Interdiocesan Theological Seminary in Częstochowa celebrated its centenary and the inauguration of the 2026/27 formation year. The jubilee Mass was presided over by Cardinal Lazarus You Heung Sika, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Clergy. During the ceremonies, Archbishop Wacław Depo emphasized the need for seminaries to adapt their methods to a changing world while maintaining spiritual and academic rigor.

Simultaneously, the Emaus Academic Ministry in Częstochowa inaugurated its new academic year. The event, held at St. Irenaeus BM Church, coincided with a canonical visitation occurring for the first time in seven years. Archbishop Depo led the Mass, highlighting the role of young people in the Church community and noting the timing's connection to the celebration of Pope John Paul II.
