Łódź Airport dismisses President Anna Midera
The Supervisory Board of Łódź Airport has dismissed Anna Midera from her position as president. Robert Makowski, the former vice president and long-time employee, has been appointed to serve in the role temporarily until a permanent successor is selected through a formal competition.
The dismissal follows an audit commissioned by the City of Łódź, which holds a 95.6% stake in the company. The audit raised concerns regarding corporate expenditures, including over 17,000 PLN spent on consumption during meetings with contractors, some of which occurred late at night. Additionally, auditors questioned the scale and necessity of business trips; in 2024, total expenditures on delegations exceeded 200,000 PLN, including trips to galas and sporting events.
The report also scrutinized the frequency of Midera’s travel, noting she spent approximately 110 days on business trips in 2024. While the airport management argued that actual duties performed away from headquarters accounted for less than 25% of working time, the audit highlighted the financial strain caused by these costs against the airport’s ongoing net losses, which totaled over 300 million PLN over the last nine years.
