Polish municipalities launch road upgrades and new park projects
Cities across Poland are upgrading local infrastructure. Łódź completed a new asphalt surface on Okólna street, improving safety for pedestrians and drivers. Bydgoszcz rerouted bus line 67 after imposing a 3.5‑ton weight limit on H. Sienkiewicza street, while Rzeszów finished new pavement on three sections of Chrobrego, Lenartowicza and Chodkiewicza streets. Wrocław expanded its renovation of Łużycka street after discovering sub‑base deficiencies, and Marki, Radomsko and other towns began extensive roadworks on multiple thoroughfares.
Parallel park and public‑space initiatives are underway. Gniezno’s pocket park between Dworcowa and Kościuszki streets is near completion, featuring an elevated walkway and educational signage. Gliwice is converting a neglected area into the South Park, planting over 230 trees along a new green avenue. In Łódź, the former free‑parking lot on Plac 4 Czerwca 1989 will be redeveloped into a green square after a design competition, with drivers redirected to paid multilevel facilities.
Additional urban issues include temporary traffic‑signal failures in Warsaw after heavy rain, prompting manual traffic control, and the phased removal of a swing‑flow arrangement on Warsaw Street in Bieruń as a new roundabout and tunnel are constructed.
