Łódź residents report loud, explosion-like bangs

Residents of Łódź and surrounding areas, including Zgierz, reported hearing two massive, consecutive bangs that sounded like explosions on Thursday, September 17, shortly before 12:00 PM.

The noise was strong enough to cause buildings to shake, prompting many people to leave their offices and homes to investigate. While numerous reports of explosions have surfaced from across the city, the State Fire Service has not yet confirmed any actual explosions.

Jędrzej Pawlak, spokesperson for the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Łódź, stated that while authorities heard the noise, there have been no specific reports confirming an explosion. He also noted that there was no military flight activity in the area at the time of the incident. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the sounds.
