Łódź Voivodeship Grants 2 Million Zł to Volunteer Fire Brigades
The Marshal's Office of the Łódź Voivodeship has earmarked 2 million złoty for the 2023‑24 budget to support 108 volunteer fire stations (OSP) across the region. The funding, awarded after 465 applications, will be used to purchase modern protective gear—including helmets, gloves, boots, masks, breathing‑apparatus, and signalling devices—as well as specialised equipment for rescue operations. Units such as OSP Bedlno will receive 15 353 zł, OSP Grochów 19 980 zł and OSP Leszczynek 19 253,60 zł. In Piotrków County, eight OSPs together obtain more than 150 k zł, with amounts ranging from 16 736 zł to 20 000 zł for stations in Sulejów, Grabicy, Przygłowie and others. The programme also funds training, modernisation of fire stations and acquisition of new fire‑engine vehicles, bringing the total regional budget for OSP and the State Fire Service close to 10 million zł. Officials say the investment aims to improve safety for both firefighters and residents.
