Łódź Voivodeship emergency services funding
Overview
In late July 2026, the Marshal’s Office of the Łódź Voivodeship allocated 2 million zł to the region’s volunteer fire brigades. The money, distributed after reviewing 465 applications, is earmarked for modern protective gear, specialised rescue equipment and the purchase of new fire‑engine vehicles, bringing the total budget for fire services close to 10 million zł.
A few days later, on 1 August 2026, the same regional authorities approved an additional 1.3 million zł from the citizen’s budget for the Water Volunteer Rescue Service (WOPR). The funds will equip water‑rescue units operating on local reservoirs with new operational cars, a 4×4 off‑road vehicle, quads, a motor‑powered rescue boat with trailer and a remote‑controlled rescue robot, enhancing safety and response speed.
Both allocations reflect a coordinated effort by the Łódź regional government to modernise and strengthen its volunteer emergency‑response infrastructure across fire and water rescue services.
