D2 highway near Bratislava’s Lamač to close for night work over weekend

The western entry of the D2 highway near Bratislava’s Lamač district will undergo night‑time closures on the weekend of 17‑19 July as part of its modernization. The first one‑way closure, affecting traffic toward Brno, starts Friday at 21:00 and ends early Saturday, while the second, affecting traffic toward Bratislava, runs Saturday night from 21:00 to Sunday morning. During the closures drivers are rerouted – northbound traffic toward Brno via the Lamačská road and southbound traffic toward Bratislava via the Patrónka route. Access to the rest area between the Sitina tunnel and the Lamač junction will be unavailable in the direction of the closure.

The works include installing new safety elements, upgraded drainage and noise‑reduction walls. After the weekend the full stretch will be open again from 19 July, with additional preparatory works for the future Dúbravka interchange slated for later in August. Weather conditions may cause further postponements.
