Da Nang Airport Terminal T1 Expansion to Boost Capacity to 14 Million Passengers
The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has received approval from the Da Nang People's Committee to expand Terminal T1 at Da Nang International Airport. The project will use more than VND 11,200 billion (about US$ 428 million) and will cover roughly 165,000 m² of land, with the new terminal floor area about 96,000 m². The expansion aims to raise the airport’s annual passenger handling capacity to 14 million, accommodating both domestic and international flights.
Construction is slated to start in August 2027 and will last 41 months. The enlarged terminal is expected to begin operations in January 2029, with renovation of the existing facilities completed by August 2029. Nearly VND 9.94 trillion of the investment will be funded from ACV’s own resources, and the project includes ancillary works such as an elevated road, multi‑storey parking with commercial space, transport infrastructure, technical systems and wastewater treatment facilities.
