Da Nang Airport Terminal 1 expansion approved, VND 11 trillion investment
Da Nang International Airport's Terminal 1 will be rebuilt and expanded under a project costing more than VND 11 trillion. The investment will increase the terminal's usable area to about 165,000 m² – adding roughly 42,000 m² to the existing 123,000 m² – and raise its passenger handling capacity to 14 million per year, serving both domestic and international traffic.
The project, led by Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), is funded entirely by the investor and is scheduled to commence construction in August 2027, with completion and operational launch expected by 2029. The upgrade includes auxiliary facilities such as a low‑level bridge, M&E building, wastewater treatment plant and additional technical systems. Forecasts anticipate the airport handling 25 million passengers by 2030 and 30 million by 2050.
