Following a meeting in New York, the VIFC-DN officially joined the Financial Centres for Sustainability (FC4S) network, coordinated by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This move supports the city’s goal to develop a modern financial ecosystem focused on green finance, carbon markets, and fintech, leveraging international standards to mobilize resources for sustainable urban development.
To support these ambitions, the city is working to resolve legal and administrative bottlenecks to unlock investment resources. Authorities have addressed nearly 98% of approximately 2,000 stalled projects using specific mechanisms granted by the National Assembly, including the restart of the 330-hectare Golden Hills Ecological Urban Area project. However, delays remain in the mineral sector, where slow agency coordination for mineral dossiers has impacted construction material supplies and the city’s goal of 95% public investment disbursement by late 2026.
