Da Nang authorities order inspection of disputed family graves relocation
Former commune official Nguyễn Quốc Hội reported that the Da Nang People's Committee has directed the city's Inspectorate to review a citizen complaint concerning the relocation of family graves for the Tam Anh‑South Korean industrial park project. The local administration asserts that the relocation, compensation, and re‑burial procedures complied with regulations, citing records that the graves were moved in 2005 and subsequently documented. A public compensation plan for 71 unclaimed graves was posted, and a hearing on October 1, 2025 confirmed the agreed compensation and new burial site at Tam Anh Nam cemetery. The Inspectorate is now tasked with verifying the handling of the petition and recommending corrective action if necessary.
Separate reports of illegal sand extraction on the Thu Bồn River in Da Nang have been flagged as unrelated to this grievance.
