Da Nang authorities seek information to locate 1968 Tet Offensive martyrs

The Da Nang Military Command and the Tam Ky Military Command have issued appeals to the public, veterans, and relatives of martyrs to provide information regarding the burial sites of soldiers who died during the 1968 Tet Offensive.

As part of the “500-day campaign” to locate, excavate, and identify remains, authorities are seeking witnesses or documents that can help pinpoint locations where soldiers fell or were buried. In the Tam Ky area, specifically near the former Quang Tin provincial headquarters, historical records indicate that 360 personnel were lost during the fighting.

Due to changes in terrain over the decades, identifying original burial sites and the movement of remains has become increasingly difficult. Officials are requesting any maps, photographs, or personal accounts from those who witnessed the burials or participated in the combat to assist in the recovery efforts.
