Da Nang City Council Calls for Traffic Relief and Better Citizen Complaint System

At a regular session of the Da Nang City Council (HĐND), representatives highlighted the worsening traffic congestion in the city centre. Deputy Head of the Urban Committee Lê Văn Dũng warned that without a comprehensive plan—beyond point‑by‑point interventions such as parking bans and traffic‑light adjustments—the gridlock could hinder Da Đăng’s development. He suggested a shift toward multi‑center urban growth and integrated traffic demand management tied to broader urban planning.

In a separate council discussion, the Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee, Lương Công Tuấn, stressed the need to address citizen petitions (đơn thư) from their root causes. He noted gaps in data integration, staffing shortages at the commune level, and unclear jurisdiction that delay responses. The council urged the creation of a unified digital database and stronger coordination across administrative tiers to improve the speed and accuracy of handling complaints, aiming to restore public trust in local authorities.
