Da Nang expands tourism spaces and draws global retailers

Da Nang is rapidly developing, adding high‑rise hotels and large coastal resorts while preserving public beaches and natural areas such as the Son Tra Peninsula. Residents and visitors can still access open, clean beaches and forest trails, a feature promoted by the city as a “breathing space” amid urban growth.

The city’s economy is also accelerating. Forecasts project a 9.18% rise in GRDP for 2025, reaching about VND 316 trillion, and it hosts roughly 1,300 active foreign‑direct‑investment projects and over 51 000 enterprises. Major investors, especially from Japan, are expanding retail and service offerings.

On 3 July, Japanese apparel chain Uniqlo opened its first store in Da Nang at Aeon Mall Da Nang Thanh Khe. The 1 500 m² shop is the brand’s second outlet in Central Vietnam and its 32nd in the country, underscoring Da Nang’s growing role as a commercial hub in the region.
